Hire a Hubby has been operating in New Zealand since 1998. The idea grew from an off hand comment made by a woman envious of her friend's handy husband. "My hubby is hopeless around the house," she moaned, "I wish I could hire yours for a while!" The seed was planted and Hire a Hubby now caters to people without the time, tools, skill or inclination to tackle jobs around the home and garden.

Hire A Hubby has since expanded throughout the country undertaking household repairs and maintenance from the Bay of Islands in the North to Invercargill in the South. As New Zealand's leading professional home maintenance company, Hire A Hubby offers our customers one point of contact for all of their requirements.

'Hubbies' are trained, uniformed, and show a 'shoes off at the door' respect for your home. They are courteous and professional and as the Hubbies are owners of their own business, they fully guarantee their workmanship.

Since Hire A Hubby's launch, the concept and business has been the focus of editorial articles from London to New York, including every major daily and weekend newspaper in New Zealand. There have been articles in New Zealand's Womens Weekly, She/More, Next, New Idea, Ernst & Young's 'Entrepreneur' magazine and Franchise New Zealand, among others.

There have also been news stories on TV One and TV Three Network News programs. Hire A Hubby has also appeared on 'Breakfast' and took part in the ongoing Telecom Business TV campaign - a three minute TVC about Hire a Hubby screening in peak timeslots during 1998/1999. To cap it all off, Hire A Hubby has appeared as the official 'labour force' for 'Our Place', ' The Ultimate Do Up', 'Home On Their Own', and  'Maggie's Garden Show' and '5 with Jude' for several seasons. And this year will see Hire A Hubby appear as the labour-force behind another the new season of Our Place on Prime, Saturday's 7.00pm.
